I'm going to miss it. This year alone has erased all the suckiness that the other three years have brought.
I feel like senior year is the only year that I truly enjoyed high school in ways that I should. I met so many people that I would have never ever talked to, and really opened myself up to people and stopped wondering how others would judge me. I absolutely adore all the kids in Avid (even the freshmen), and pretty much every class had a person that I'd look forward to, which is especially awesome because most of those people weren't limited to my immediate circle of friends!
For the past three years, I've been kept under a shell and talked only to Asians because I thought they were the only people I could click with. Everything I did was "safe" and conventional, but this year, I felt that a lot of my choices and risks had been spontaneous, which gives you that raw sense of euphoria yaknow? It's like you're finally being yourself and stuff. IDK. this sounds cheesy =.=
And even though i didn't really see some of my immediate friends all that much, i was still able to maintain and even deepen my relationship with some people. others, it was more of a let go type of thing, but i've never really regretted in it because what is the point in investing time into people when you can't differentiate whats real from fake? okay that doesn't make any fucking sense. but w/e. this year was so UNREGRETFUL AND SHIZ. heh
List of people that I would most definitely miss, by period.
1a - Jubees, you are the light of my world. Seriously.
1b- Veevers this class was so frickin easy but so much fun hahaha. Over the years, because of school and other commitments, we might not have been as close as we wished to be, but I really feel that our friendship grew and it wasn't even because of kpop or anything. We're just bawss. heh
2 - freshmen - even though you're annoying and obnoxious sometimes, i like you guys because you laugh at my jokes and think i'm cool when i swear. heh. Juniors - sometimes I want to ditch wednesdays because my other classes might be boring, BUT NO. cuz seriously all of you make me so happy everytime I see you. and the kids i tutor are actually motivated and want to learn and then they get things and it makes me satisfied and happy whee :) and my fellow tutees, we make the most boss reflection videos ever. and i dont like giving people my chupa chups, so the fact that you guys each had like 30 says a lot.
3 - singing in general. a lot of people give me shit for committing myself to waking up at 6 twice a week and skipping 3/5 lunches, but singing gave me a whole new perspective on myself. Originally, I sang because I needed to fulfill UC reqs and hated art, and I WAS SO BAD AT IT. like omg. SO BAD. but dude even after one year, i improved so much and it became super fun and cathartic and IDK. singing is hella fun LOL. it's one of those thigns I surprise myself with. yeup. i also think all the sophomores in my chorale class are awesome and i love them. Also, the fact that I didn't eat lunch with just my asian group of friends allowed me to be more chill and less possessive of my friends i think. idk. LOL
4 - dana dana dana. probably the one person that i would never find myself to be such great friends with. i never even knew you existed even though we both went to egan and i still dont remember the moment where we just clicked. its so weird! all i remember is that one day, you switched seats with aaron and sat next to me and we camwhored with simon and it was beautiful. and then i even got an expensive gym membership and we went to the gym together and then got hella lost on the highway and i dont even know. probably the most surprising and closest friendship i made this year.
5 - calc class was just super fun in general. everyone in that class is nerdy and awesome and IDK. best partner would probably be aaron, who i honestly used to dislike INTENSELY. but now he's a chill dude who gives me chocolate when i ask him to. heh. (ok i still have to pay for it) and watches out for me when i sleep in class. and sings disney/top 40 songs with me while richie is talking. Seriously though, i hated him back in 7th grade when we were forced to be world history partners, but now he's my best calc buddy ever ^_______^ who woulda thunk.
6 - english is just a chill class. DUDE. i dont even know. kwan is awesome (total opposite feeling from freshmen year) and the people in this class are so openminded and kind and cool. It really is a giant hodgepodge of all types of people, but the support that you get is so intense and there are random moments in which some random person would shine and everybody could see it. also never thought i would become biffles with chris, and its such a pity that it was only the last few weeks of school that we started biffling. and who knew that i would actually make a pretty awesome friendship from some random cultural project thing? also, everyone in the class laughs at cheesy jokes. LOL. which is a good thing.
someone told me that the more social you are, the happier you are. senior year really was the year for me to expand my horizons and shit, and even though there were nights that were seriously hell, they cannot compare to the joy I got from creating some unexpected, but wonderful friendships.
